i’ve been puking up green since i learned what the color was
i fought hard to be seen cuz i thought that that was love
i sprouted leaves from the vines of jealousy
but a love that makes you lose yourself is just captivity

i never had a green thumb
i couldn’t even keep a plant alive
then suddenly i had a garden whose leaves kept me up at night
i never shared emotion
my heart grew with weeds everyday
i shoved sunflowers in my mouth to convince me i was okay

and now all i have is a dry patch of soil
and now my flowerbed is starting to spoil

i wanted to grow strawberries, the sweetest and divine
now all i have are dirty lemons, so sour
they could make you cry
i was the garden of eden
but something came and ate me up inside
it made the innocence inside me die

i left my innocence in the bedrock and soil
yeah i left the pieces that made me feel whole
